N2Nsoft is hiring
To support on-going activities with tier-one network operators and to establish NetScale as the reference next-generation network planning tool, N2Nsoft is looking for highly motivated and talented engineers. Please look at the job description in the "careers" tab. Note also that because the positions are based in Paris and are open now, we will only consider applicants that are based in the Paris area with all required work permits.
CEA relies on N2Nsoft for the optimization by simulation of an Ultra High Performance network
CEA (French Nuclear Agency) has selected N2Nsoft to help design and optimize an Ultra High Performance network (40 Gbits/s in the core, 10 Gbits/s in the access). CEA will utilize NetScale™ to simulate the network and design the most efficient transport layer. N2Nsoft will also provide consultancy services.
CEA has deployed Europe's most powerful computers. The installed computing power is currently of 50 Teraflops with 30 PetaBytes of central memory, growing to 500 Teraflops by year 2010. It has naturally given to CEA a central role in the CARRIOCAS project that aims at developing an economically viable solution for
- interactive simulation on remote supercomputers
- visualisation and collaborative processing of massive volumes of remote data stored in distributed areas.
CARRIOCAS involves major players from industry, research and universities in the Paris region. An experimental network will be deployed linking sites from CEA, EDF (Electricite de France), Orsay University and INRIA then extended to other industries.
Such a project demonstrates N2Nsoft's unique added-value. NetScale™ will be used in all the phases of the project. First as a network design environment: prototype implementations will be integrated into NetScale™ for design and test. Then to understand and extrapolate observations made in the testbed. And finally to reproduce and validate the behavior of the full network.
01 Informatique highlights benefits of NetScale™ for enterprises

N2NSoft at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Feb 12-15
N2NSoft will be participating at 3GSM 2007. Our NetScale™ tool will be demonstrated at the Nortel booth featuring Nortel's engineering service offerings. Nortel and N2NSoft have jointly entered the 3GSM "Best Network Quality Initiative Award" contest. By using NetScale™, high speed data wireless networks can be efficiently engineered. The full network can be designed and dimensioned through a realistic simulation on a laptop. Complemented by Network Audit and Real Traffic Analysis services performed by Nortel engineers, the tool allows wireless network operators to optimize their network with high efficiency. In particular, this offering addresses the critical need of providers of high speed wireless data services to optimize their transmission backbone - a business-critical need for HSPA service providers.

Pierre Eisenmann joins N2NSoft
Pierre Eisenmann joins N2NSoft 2006 as Chief Operating Officer (COO). A telecom industry veteran, he is in charge of N2NSoft's business development. He previously worked for 11 years at Nortel. In his last position at Nortel, he developed powerful performance analysis and optimization services for wireless data operators, serving more than 24 customers worldwide, most of them affiliates of the major wireless service providers. These activities were nominated for the "Best Network Quality Initiative" at 3GSM 2006. He is the coauthor of 7 conference papers and 2 patents on wireless data traffic engineering.
The methodology of NetScale has been published in ACM SIGCOMM's CCR
The simulation methodology description of NetScale has been published in the Computer Communication Review of the ACM SIGCOMM, October 2006. This paper presents a scalable time-stepped hybrid simulation algorithm which is well adapted to the simulation of large IP networks (up to one million of competing flows and network elements), while tracking reactive traffic behaviour and packet-level phenomena e.g. timeout trigger or packet burstiness. This simulation paradigm allows one to gain several orders of magnitude of computation time compared to traditional discrete event simulation approaches. The accuracy of this simulation method is evaluated by comparison to other simulation methodologies. Examples of large scale network simulations are also presented. More info...
